Piraeus port represents one of the most cost-effective port within Eastern Mediterranean for vessels trading between Black Sea and Mediterranean to call in transit for receiving bunkers, lubricants, fresh water, change crew plus materialise replenishments of stores, provisions etc. Any vessel may call in Piraeus roads and stay IN TRANSIT for 48 hrs (without free pratique) at very low cost to receive bunkers, lubs, stores etc.
On the other hand in case no bunkers are required to be supplied, Lavrion port represents a positional port where in most cases no deviation is required (if vessel is from/to Bsea to/from WMed). In Lavrion port, vessels can be supplied with lubricants, stores (ie provisions, deck, engine stores, paints), load/off load spare parts, make crew changes etc. Again any vessel could stay in anchorage IN TRANSIT for 48 hrs (without free pratique) at very low cost to perform above operations
